The second round of the Red Line Grand Prix competition is scheduled for Friday, November 13 at Center Stage Atlanta.
The first night's competition in October set 8 of the South East’s toughest 185 lb cage fighters in a 3 bout, single elimination tournament to determine the undisputed best of the region. Each bout will consist of 3-3 minute rounds. The second bout of the tournament will be held on Friday the 13th in November, and the third bout date to be announced for January 2010.
The talent selected to compete in this tournament are a hand picked group of diverse individuals who all share a few things in common; a history of winning, a hunger for a higher level of competition, and a desire to be labeled among the best of Southeast’s rapidly growing professional MMA athletes.
The first round George Lockhart made quick work of Willie Smalls, Cortez Coleman ground out a decision victory over George Allen, Douglas Lima narrowly escaped a broken neck from a horrendous front flip slam by Eddie Hernandez, yet still submitted Hernandez by triangle choke. Headbuster Clint Hester lived up to his nickname with a first round KO of Aaron “Tex” Johnson.
On November 13, George Lockhart takes on Cortez Coleman and, in what is anticipated to be fight of the year, Clint “The Headbuster” Hester takes on “The Phenom” Douglas Lima.
