HISTORY

Since opening its doors in 1977, The Cheetah Lounge has played a defining role in Atlanta’s nightlife history, evolving alongside the city as one of the South’s most recognized adult entertainment destinations.

The vision began with founder Bill Hagood, who sought to reimagine the adult nightclub experience by combining sophisticated hospitality, upscale surroundings, and polished entertainment under one roof. After launching the original Cheetah concept in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and later expanding to Pompano Beach, Florida, Hagood brought the brand to Atlanta at a time when Midtown was emerging into the cultural heartbeat of the city.

The original Atlanta location opened at Peachtree and 8th Streets, placing The Cheetah at the center of a rapidly transforming nightlife and business district. In the late 1980s, the club relocated to its current home on Spring Street, where it quickly became woven into Atlanta’s entertainment landscape and late-night culture.

Over the decades, The Cheetah became known not only for its iconic entertainers, but for attracting a uniquely diverse clientele that ranged from business executives and professional athletes to touring musicians, convention guests, celebrities, and longtime Atlanta tastemakers. Behind its doors, celebrations unfolded, industry connections were made, and generations of guests returned for an atmosphere rooted in discretion, indulgence, and Southern hospitality.

As Atlanta grew into an international city, The Cheetah continued to evolve with it—investing in luxury interiors, immersive sound and lighting, elevated guest experiences, and expanded hospitality offerings that helped redefine expectations within the adult nightlife industry.

In 2001, The Cheetah introduced Alluvia, its signature dining experience, becoming one of the first adult entertainment venues in Atlanta to pair world-class entertainment with chef-driven, white tablecloth dining. The addition further distinguished the club as a destination where nightlife, cuisine, and hospitality intersected in a way few venues had attempted before.

Today, nearly five decades later, The Cheetah remains an enduring part of Atlanta’s cultural identity—an institution that continues to blend seduction, sophistication, and Southern hospitality while maintaining its legacy as one of the city’s most iconic nightlife destinations.

Immediately right of The Cheetah’s main stage is The Dining Room and VIP Area, only slightly removed from main room activity.

The Dining Room/VIP area offers white table club, food service and upholstered leather chairs that overlooks the main stage and main room activity.
