Executive Chef Marie Justinien
Born on the island of Haiti, Marie Justinien brings a rich multicultural background and a passion for fresh, flavorful cuisine inspired by fruit- and vegetable-based dishes. Early in life, her family moved to France, where she spent most of her first six years before relocating to the United States. Marie later grew up in Brooklyn, and during high school, her family moved to Chicago.
A talented athlete, Marie earned a full athletic scholarship to Southern Illinois University, where she played both basketball and softball while earning a degree in psychology. Although successful in athletics and academics, she discovered her true passion was the culinary arts and went on to attend the Culinary Institute of Chicago, where she majored in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management.
From 2000 through 2014, Marie built an impressive culinary career, serving as a chef at some of Chicago’s finest establishments, including the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, The Peninsula Chicago, the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, Bin 36, Blackbird, and Rivers Casino. After relocating to Georgia, she continued to expand her culinary expertise, serving as a personal chef for high-end clients.
Today, Marie serves as the Executive Chef at Alluvia Restaurant inside The Cheetah, where she brings Southern flair and elevated fine dining to Atlanta’s nightlife scene.
